Dekota

DEKOTA

EST D.O.B. 2005

GOTCHA DAY: July 21st, 2021

Dekota is our first horse. He came from auction into a rescue where he was sold to a family but he was not the right fit. We decided to welcome him to our family as Devyn's first horse in July of 2021. He needed a lot of veterinary care and conditioning to get into shape for his first year of showing green. Devyn and Dekota made an outstanding team crushing the doubts of many by winning the admiration of the judges prevailing with the title of Reserve Champion at the end of their first show seasn! Unfortunately in January 2023, Dekota became lame. An MRI discovered tears in his deep digital flexor tendon in his right front foot and degenerative changes in both. He moved from the barn to our property for a one year rehabilitation.

Dekota is a true gentleman allowing guests of all ages to greet, brush and love all over him. He continues to show is gentle disposition with ground manner and under saddle.

In January 2025, Dekota became lame again in his right front foot. He is on medication and our gets special orthopedic shoes to maintain his comfort level for as long as we have left with him. His job may have shifted into more therapy work, but this horse is a gem and continues to grow his fan club!

Khaleesi

KHALEESI

EST D.O.B. 2008

GOTCHA DAY: May 5th, 2018

Khaleesi came to us with six-inch overgrown hooves, abscesses in her feet and malnourished. With a lot of farrier and veterinary support, we were able to successfully get her feeling better and in better health. Khalessi foundered due to her neglect so she continually has laminitis flare ups. She is insulin resistant so she needs to be kept on a dry lot, minimal grazing and on a low sugar diet. Keeping her on a balanced ration of grain and hay keep her issues under control. She is sweet & sassy but also a favorite of young kids because she is the perfect size!

Khaleesi will come and greet all visitors with the expectation to be given a treat. She believes we are neglecting her with a regulated diet but it is healthy, happy and comfortable!

Luna

LUNA

EST D.O.B. 2011

GOTCHA DAY:  May 4th, 2018

Luna was a listed ad on Craigslist. She was advertised as a breeding donkey. Even though we did not have a fence or housing for her, there was no hesitation to go pick her up and bring her home to our farm. Once she arrived, Luna immediately became a family favorite. She does have back issues so we try to keep her in shape but not work her too hard or make her carry anything. She is slow to warm up to people but once you win her heart, she will follow you around and sing you a song when you leave her. She is super gentle, patient and is another fan favorite on the farm!

GOTCHA DAY for Derek & Dill  July 19th, 2023

Ducky was dropped off to us after being purchased at a farmer's market. He was estimated to be 3 weeks old and immediately imprinted on us. He lived indoors and around our two bunnies until Derek and Dill came along.

Dill & Derek were bought and raised to be house ducks. They came to the farm thinking they would be hens for Ducky but alas they were both drakes. Resulting in an all drake flock. They spent the year together getting along just fine until Ducky became ill. He needed to be separated to recouperate but now is not accepted back in with Derek & Dill.
